Now in its third year, the conference, sponsored by Bicycle Victoria, will be held at Etihad Stadium and is an opportunity to discuss bicycling and its role in transforming cities into liveable spaces.
Bike Futures 2011 will bring together local and international experts to address how to best respond to the issues confronting communities as they embrace the growing presence of bicycles.
Keynote speakers will include Gil Penalosa, an internationally renowned liveable city advisor, and Gordon Price, Director of the City Program at Simon Fraser University.
Workshop themes for the three days will include innovative and human design, linking local initiatives with the bigger picture, shared paths and shared spaces, the economic benefits of rising and how Vancouver BC, the world’s most liveable city is pushing the bike agenda.
